She is probably best known for her role on the TV series The City and co-starring alongside Michael J. Fox on Spin City for two years, but also for her movie roles in 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and No Looking Back, 1999's Summer of Sam, Dracula 2000, 2001's Don't Say a Word and most recently, The Master of Disguise.

Early life:
Jennifer Esposito was born in 1973 to the daughter of Phyllis, an interior decorator, and Robert Esposito, a computer consultant and music producer. Jennifer and her older sister was born in Brooklyn, New York but raised on Staten Island in a semi-traditional Italian home. She attended St.Teresa School in Staten Island, and graduated high school in Staten Island. Her love for acting started at an early age which later led to her enrollment at the Lee Strasberg Institute.Jennifer got her start dancing on Club MTV, then gradually rose through the ranks doing small parts in films like A Brooklyn State of Mind.

She worked on TV in the early 1990s, including a recurring role on “New York Undercover”. Following small roles in indie films “Kiss Me, Guido” and “A Brother's Kiss”, Esposito gained prime time notice in 1997 on ABC's hit sitcom Spin City. During her two seasons on the show, Esposito also appeared in Edward Burns' blue collar romance “No Looking Back”, the teen slasher sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer”, and Spike Lee's basketball drama “He Got Game”. She had twice worked with Spike Lee, her most notably in breakthrough role as Ruby, an aspiring punk singer whose boyfriend (Adrien Brody) is suspected of being the notorious Son of Sam killer in "Summer of Sam". Additionally, she had a prominent part in "Side Streets" and made a cameo appearance in the Chris O'Donnell vehicle "The Bachelor".

Career:
After playing several small dramatic roles in major pictures and starring in the low-budget independent thriller "The Proposal," Esposito landed a starring comedic role opposite Dana Carvey in "Master of Disguise" and played alongside William H. Macy, Sam Rockwell and George Clooney in the Russo Brothers' caper comedy "Welcome to Collinwood," both released in 2002. In late 2004 Espoito returned to series television with a recurring role on the CBS courtroom drama "Judging Amy" playing Crystal Turner, a social worker who runs an outreach program for homeless children. She followed up on the big screen as a member of the top-flight acting ensemble assembled for the racially charged, multi-plot drama "Crash", playing the partner and lover of a police detective Don Cheadle, embroiled in a racially sensitive homicide case. Esposito then returned to series television in the one-hour drama, “Related”, about four New York sisters trying to keep their heads above water while dealing with the demands of work and family.
She recently played a love interest to Denis Leary's character in the FX dramedy Rescue Me. Esposito can currently be seen on television as Andrea in the ABC comedy, Samantha Who?

Personal life:
She dated Bradley Cooper for eighteen months before they wed in secret December 2006; Esposito reportedly filed for divorce May 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.
She resides in Los Angeles and New York.
